GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Manuscripts submitted to Biophysics and Beyond must fall within the journal’s scientific scope and demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, and clear contribution to knowledge in biophysics or interdisciplinary domains extending beyond conventional boundaries.
Submissions must:
- Be original and unpublished
- Not be under consideration elsewhere
- Comply with ethical and legal standards
Manuscript Categories
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles – Full-length reports of novel research
- Review Articles – Comprehensive, critical analyses of current knowledge
- Short Communications – Concise reports of significant findings
- Methods and Technical Notes – Novel or improved experimental/computational methods
- Perspectives / Conceptual Articles – Forward-looking or theoretical contributions
- Editorials – By invitation only
General Guidelines
Only English language articles are accepted. Authors are responsible for the language quality in their article. The journal strongly recommends to submit only articles with acceptable English language.
Length of a Manuscript
The papers with up to 25 pages is appropriate. In some special cases defined by the Editor-in-Chief the number of pages can be increased.
A standard research manuscript should include:
Title – Concise and informative
Abstract – Clearly stating objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
Keywords – 3–6 relevant terms
Introduction – Context, rationale, and objectives
Materials and Methods – Sufficient detail for reproducibility
Results – Clear and logical presentation of findings
Discussion – Interpretation, limitations, and implications
Conclusions – Key outcomes and significance
Acknowledgements
References – Accurate and complete
Text sections should be numbered sequentially for clarity. Acknowledgements and References are not numbered.
Figures and tables must be original, clearly labeled, and cited in the text.
Publication Frequency
The journal is published three times in a year: in January, May and September.

Submission
The journal Biophysics and Beyond considers only papers submitted online through journal submission system, using Submission button.
New users will need to create an account. Once logged on to the site authors may make a submission and track the status of the manuscript.
Ethical Declarations
Each manuscript must include:
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- Funding Information
- Data Availability Statement
- Ethical Approval (where applicable)
Failure to include required statements may result in rejection or delay.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Authors must disclose any use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., for language editing or data processing).
AI tools:
- May not be listed as authors
- May not replace human intellectual responsibility
Peer Review and Revision
- The journal applies double-blind peer review.
- At least two independent reviewers assess each manuscript.
- Revised submissions must include a point-by-point response to reviewer comments.
- Failure to adequately address comments may result in rejection.
Post-Acceptance
After acceptance:
- Authors review proofs for accuracy only
- Substantive changes are not permitted
- Final publication follows editorial approval

Role of Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a critical role in ensuring the scientific quality, integrity, and credibility of the journal. Reviews should be objective, constructive, and timely.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts under review are confidential documents. Reviewers must:
- Not share or discuss manuscripts with others
- Not use unpublished material for personal or professional advantage
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline review if a conflict exists due to:
- Personal, professional, or financial relationships
- Competitive or collaborative involvement with the authors
Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are asked to assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty
- Scientific rigor and methodology
- Adequacy of data and analysis
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Clarity of presentation
Review Reports
Reviewer comments should:
- Be respectful, professional, and unbiased
- Clearly distinguish major and minor issues
- Provide actionable suggestions for improvement
Personal criticism of authors is unacceptable.
Ethical Oversight
Reviewers should alert the editors to:
- Suspected plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Ethical concerns involving human or animal research
- Significant overlap with published work
Timeliness
Reviewers are expected to:
- Submit reviews within the agreed timeframe
- Inform the editorial office promptly if delays occur
