Abstract

This article examines the prospects for cultivation of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and lavender (Lavandula) in the highland and lowland regions of Karabakh. Plant introductions plays an important role in expanding species diversity and increasing crop productivity. At the initial stage of fundamental research, particular attention is given to the developmental biology of this plants and their biological properties. Rosemary and lavender possess stimulating, calming, and antiseptic effects, and their essential oils are widely used to reduce stress, improve blood circulation, and support skin and hair care. The global demand for rosemary and lavender essential oils is steadily increasing. Therefore, the cultivation of this plants is economically avorable due to the high demand for essential oils and dried flowers. In addition, rosemary and lavender are relatively easy to cultivate, drought-resistant, and capable of growing in saline soils. The cultivation of this plants under climatic conditions of Azerbaijan's demonstrates significant potential for agricultural development and the expansion of aromatic and medicinal plant production.
